| First Steps Alpine Course |
NEW for 2009 |
We have the following running this summer for you in May, June, July and August :
Picture this, the Alps, clear water, fresh air, beautiful scenery, warm weather, great food and fantastic rivers - Fluidskills First Steps Alpine course is designed to help
You take your first steps in Alpine paddling over five days.
This course is ideal for people paddling grade 2 or younger paddlers. It will be run in late July to use the lower volume in the river to help you progress and includes a confidence building safety course making you feel more prepared on the river.
The start of the course will be on the lake at L’Argentiere la Bessee, helping you with your strokes, in this relaxing environment with an average temperature of 30 degrees. It makes a great place for practicing skills, even the wet ones, and lets us plan your steps of development for the course. In the afternoon after a picnic by the lake you carry the kayaks 10 metres and get on the Durance River. You will be running a section down to Roche de Ram, a lovely gentle Grade 2 where we can help you with your river running skills and guide you on your first alpine white water. The rest of the course will be made up of rivers and sites such as St Clement, an ideal venue for learning to use river features, with a Grade 2+ white water course with its own outside pool with slides to the river and café. Also the Sunshine run, a Grade 2/3 that has fun big waves. What a blast and lots more!
With over seven years experience in this area we will select the right venues for you. Throughout the course you will receive high quality coaching and guidance on an individual learning plan, so your paddling improves and you get the most out of your time with us.
Why not book on as an individual? Make new friends, maybe new paddle buddies for future trips, or as a group of friends looking for a new experience. For booking or more details take a look at the dates and courses pages of the website.
