Successful performance at this level indicates that the paddler can consider themselves intermediate canoeists, as they can now paddle on open water and moving waters.
They can do this in a competent manner as part of a led group and have the knowledge and ability to help the smooth running of a trip while being led down a section of a Grade 2 Rivers and open water up to force 3 winds.
This also can be used as a pre-requisite for the BC coach award.
This course aims to equip the paddler with the necessary personal paddling on open water and river reading skills in order that they can make appropriate decisions, select the correct skill and carry them out in Moving environments and open water.
We have a full range of canoes from Venture canoes and Mad River that you may borrow if needed.
A full detailed action plan during the course will assist in your personal development after your training course.
