Your Essential Resource for Paddlesport Coaching FAQs

Find answers about our expert white-water kayak, canoe, and SUP coaching. We make your journey from booking to the water professional, safe, and stress-free. Let us help you get ready for your next adventure.

How do I book and when is the balance due for my trip?

Book online with a non-refundable deposit to save your spot. The full balance is due four weeks before your course starts. We will send a reminder so you stay on track.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand that life happens and will always do our best to help if your plans change. You can reschedule or refund with at least four weeks' notice, though bookings are final after that; please see our booking policy for full details.

What if the river conditions or weather are unsafe?

If conditions make paddling unsafe, we will provide a new date or a full refund. Your safety is our main priority. We monitor the weather and river levels constantly.

Is insurance required and what if minimum numbers aren't met?

Courses need minimum numbers to run safely; we will notify you early if any changes occur. We also strongly suggest having travel insurance to cover any personal cancellations.

Do I need a roll before kayaking white water?

No, but it’s a great skill to master and we can help with that. For our advanced courses, the ability to roll is essential, but our introduction courses cover self-rescues and we are always on hand to help keep you safe and rescue you. Simply head over to our Personal Development area for rolling skills lessons

What’s the best next step if I’m already confident on Grade 3 white water?

If you’re already solid on Grade 3 white water and want to push your skills further, our Advanced WW Leader Training and Assessment courses are ideal. You’ll refine your technical paddling, leadership, and rescue skills in demanding environments so you can lead others with confidence. Head to our Advanced Courses section to see upcoming dates and secure your place.

How do you keep courses safe on moving water?

Safety is at the heart of every Fluid Skills course. We carefully choose venues and river levels for the group, use clear briefings and progressive tasks, and build in rescue training appropriate to the environment. All courses are led by highly qualified coaches with extensive white water and rescue experience, so you can focus on learning while we manage the risks.
