Want to be a Coach?
Have
you discovered the joy of paddlesports? Are you keen to help others do
the same? Then this is the ideal starting point. If you intend to coach
others from a boat you’ll need to demonstrate a good BCU 2 star standard
of personal skills so that you can move effectively on the water to
keep your students safe and demonstrate the basic skills of paddlesports
to them. So if you’ve held your BCU 2* and have had time to consolidate
the skills then you’ll be ready. If, however, you’d rather only coach
from the bank or shore then you won’t need the BCU 2* award. You don’t
need to hold a first aid certificate to do this course but this is
recommended for when you’re out coaching
Prior
to attending this course please ensure you contact the British Canoe
Union (0845 370 9500 www.bcu.org.uk) and complete any pre course
administration and paperwork prior to attending.this will be a CR form that you can down load here. you will need this and you’ll need to complete
some tasks within the Level 1 workbook and bring the Level 1 folder and
supporting paperwork with you.
